Rules include not letting a lion get above you as they will see you as weak. This rule os often broken but only when the keepers are nearby to ensure the lions know it is not playtime.
It is also not wise to approach a lion when they have food. Although these lions are well fed, they remain very much territorial over food and even the keepers keep their distance.
As the lions have very poor short distance eye sight it is sometimes possible for them to miss small bits of food and to try to locate them by sense of smell.
