This is actually a yawn and not a sign of aggression. It does serve to show the amazing teeth and fantastic condition of these animals.
The lions get through an amazing amount of raw meat daily and yet it is not fed to them at either a set time or even on a daily basis.
In zoos, regular feeding patterns lead to aminals waiting for their next food, often pacing up and down in their enclosures and watching out for the keepers with the next lot of food.
Here, they show no interest whatsover in acivity inside or outside their enclosure unless they feel so inclined. A more natural solution and one that works well for the lions.
