Monkey Mountain, Mauritius
One of the hidden features of the island is the abundance of monkeys to be found at several key tourist locations.
One is at the top of Monkey Mountain, near to Chamarel. As one of the highest points on the island it also boasts some of the best views on the island.
Here is a selection of shots from 2004, including some of my wife feeding the baby monkeys with bananas. Only safe to do when the parents were out of eye sight.
